This
is the historical room that exhibits the process of change that has
taken place in textile designs during the 20th century. These
changes were influenced by the social climate before and after the
Agricultural Reform; a reform which greatly affected indigenous
community life.
Here one can appreciate the extraordinary
creativity of recent years (the result of the Indigenous Art
Renaissance Program) yielding far greater complexity and beauty in
relation to the earlier traditional weavings.
Production was
greatly stimulated during this period with the revival of ancient
figures, but also with the creation of a profusion of new designs and
themes in both the Tarabuco and Jalq’a styles.
