This
room presents the process of creation – the result of the Indigenous
Art Renaissance Program - over the past ten years. These
contemporary Tarabuco textiles are very fine and delicate. Conserving
their traditional designs organized in bands, today they express
through charming miniatures a complex world of daily activities and
social life, with its farming, rituals, dances, and ceremonies.
Tarabuco design opens into a naturally organized solar space inhabited
by animals and known persons and filled with activities and cultural
objects.

The
light emanating from the subtle color degradations found in current
weavings -produced from distinct shades of greens, purples, and blues -
create an effect where the weavings appear as if the figures are
illuminated by cascading rays of light accounting for the special
ambience of this room.
