Welcome to ASUR The
Foundation for Anthropological Research and Ethno-development,
Anthropologists of the Southern Andes (ASUR), is a private, non-profit
social development organization working with indigenous communities in
south-central Bolivia.
The defining characteristic of the
projects undertaken by ASUR is that they are productive economic
development projects derived from indigenous communities own cultural
experience.
ASUR conceives of indigenous economic
development as something inseparable from its cultural setting. We
emphasise high-quality artisan production, based upon creations of
traditional Andean communities, but without ignoring other productive
possibilities.
